This week, we received – Two fresh cod fillets, hamburger meat, sweet potatoes, corn on the cob, red onions, lentils, granola, farm fresh butter, milk and bread.
Edit – Friends & Farms just contacted us and told us we were supposed to have also received arugula and spinach, but there was a mistake. Instead, we will receive some more goodies next week!
I’m going to start listing the groceries we get from Friends & Farms by the date. It was getting a bit confusing to number them.
This week we got – Two awesome steaks (I believe they were ribeye), chicken legs, pork sausage links, a pumpkin, mushrooms, kale, green beans, bibb lettuce, raw peanuts, maple syrup, eggs, milk and bread.
This week, we received – salmon steaks, chicken sausage, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, onions, frozen bell peppers, spinach, colby jack cheese, milk and bread.
We forgot to take the picture, but this week we got: Mussels, Ground chicken, chèvre cheese, white sweet potatoes, garlic, mustard greens, rutabaga, frozen corn, bibb lettuce, tomatoes, frozen blueberries, milk and bread.
This week is a good, good week.
J – We got the usuals – bread, milk, eggs – and also three heads of broccoli, a slew of green beans, spinach, spaghetti squash, egg noodles (yeeessssss), 4 delicious looking green apples, walnuts, Canadian bacon, chicken legs, and a delicious looping sirloin tip roast that will almost certainly turn into my favorite recipe – roast beef with wasabi cream sauce. Oh yeah. It’s gonna be a good week. Today, I used the spinach we got and the ham & turnips from last week to make Turnip & Ham au Gratin. Tomorrow, I’m going to start my next batch of beer – a Mayan Apocalypse Stout, so themed for the impending end of the Mayan calendar (save your posts, I know it’s cyclical – tongue and cheek!) – and maybe, just maybe, I’ll cook up some roast beef. Ines is sick right now, as I was all week, but when she’s better she’s going to post the amazing fish she prepared.
